Capture of the ship Mahajoub, Francois Monsimet (master)
According to the depositions, Thomas Browne as commanding officer of the Bombay Castle first sent a boat to investigate (manned by Charles Allger, his third mate, and some other mariners) and then made sail for the Mahajoub with the Bombay Castle. During the chase, the Greek supercargo and some other members of the Mahajoub's crew took to their boat and went ashore. Browne and his second mate Norway boarded the Mahajoub; Norway then was ordered to take it to Fort St David.
