Forced journey
Description:
The ship was suspected to be destined for the Spanish army. Accoring to Lee's statement in court the ship and the most part of her cargo of olive oil were ransomed to the master for a small sum as being of little worth, but they never received the ransom (he and Toller kept the master's brother as pledge). The remaining part of the cargo of oil was sold at Ancona for only 2,838 zequins [zecchini]. The court case does not give any information on where the ship was taken after capture. Malta is therefore just an assumption.
The date of arrival is only guessed.
