Description:
This journey started after the "Carlisle" seized the cargo and the French passenger Jean Baptiste Callais of the Dutch ship "Jeune Cornelis" on 8 October 1745. The "Jeune Cornelis" was laden with glass, honey, 2 trunks and 1 box. The box and the trunks contained suits of men's clothes, silk ribbons, silk stockings, silk palatines, embroidered gauze, pencils and paint, silk lace, embroidered muslin, ruffles and handkerchiefs, silk waistcoats embroidered with gold, flannel garters, box combs, quilted capes, silk flowers, silk gloves, worsted stockings, Spanish lace, necklaces, earrings, millerey and snuff boxes. Only the passenger and the cargo were brought to Dover.
